Damaged. Disgraced. Dishonored. And the only hero who can save seven worlds.
When a freak accident ruins his body and his memory, Wes Malcolm loses his scholarship and his place in the world. Every treatment has failed, save one: a fully immersive VR game, designed by his late, disgraced father, that mimics the condition his body used to possess. To everyone’s disbelief, his body and mind slowly improve, bit by bit, but it’s still not enough.
Then one night, he wakes up in a world just like the game his father designed. Here, he can grow, learn, and thrive. But this world and all its sister planets are under assault from nightmare creatures, supernatural storms, and a host of other cataclysms. The strange, beautiful steward of these worlds offers him a deal: Save her planets, and he can take the power he gains back to his original body on Earth. It’s the best chance he’s ever been offered. But will his determination be enough, both for himself and the worlds now depending on him?
Come and find out.

This is not only an excellent book, it’s an even better audiobook. By the time the story ends, you’ve become deeply invested in Wes’s story. The superb narration by Christopher Boucher and Jessica Threet brings everything to life. Even ten thousand words typed into this review could not adequately explain how good the Challenger’s Call stories are: you must purchase this book and experience this wonderful tale for yourself. You won’t regret it.

I was turned onto this book by it being recommended after listening to another book that Chris and Jessica had done. I was surprised by the trauma and challenges that were being written about but not in a bad way. I loved how Wes keeps fighting no matter the odds. I recommend this book to a lot of people even if the are not into the litrpg scene because of the story. I believe it touches a lot of people.

This is the first in an incredible series. Get it.! Don’t ask, just listen to Christopher Boucher and Jessica Threet, two AMAZING narrators, bring the story of a young man who has had everything go wrong in his life rise up as a champion of the downtrodden in a wider universe of dark, and I mean DARK, corruption. It is an engaging twist on Isekai and Arthurian mythos, with a little bit of cultivation lit and LitRPG. Nathan Thompson has delivered a real banger, here, and you’re doing your ears and imagination a favor by giving it a sincere listen.

This series is one of those works that I look forward to reading. I cry, laugh, get emotional with each episode. Absolutely brilliant the work as a whole, difficult to say which is the best book as the story as a whole is so well conceived.

I only found out about this book as it sponsored thequartering on YouTube but so glad I did!
I’ve read the magician saga by Raymond E Feist as well as the Harry Potter books and watched many fantasy series such as game of thrones, the hobbit, Lord of the rings, etc, but this truly is somewhere between them all.
Something different and I could not put this book down, wonderful story telling, great depth and layers to characters and the plot, and am already on book 2 brace for the wolves!

Love these books so much the store and character development are so thorough that the books pulls you in and won’t let you go. I have a severe political addiction and these books are one of the few things that are so good that it helps break me out of that world.
